Families and Children

The Institute will be designed around a learning concept that emphasises sociality and breaking bread: the learning community as a temporary, extended family. For tens of thousands of years this was the automatic and natural context for individual learning and the inter-generational transmission of knowledge, no-how and culture. Providing that parents are happy to be flexible and to take final responsiblity for childcare, the Institute will welcome spouses and children. We will endeavour to provide accomodation, to incorporate the needs of any childen into the daily rhythms of the community and facilitate organisational schedules that work for the individuals concerned.

Pets will also be welcome, although strictly the responsiblity of the owner.
