MSc Sustainable Development

Overview

As one of the central policy drivers the concept of sustainable sevelopment now pervades decision making at all levels. Private companies, public sector and non-governmental organizations are increasingly required to understand the significance of the sustainability agenda, and to articulate a strategic response. This Masters programme is designed to provide an overview of the field from a holistic and multi-disciplinary perspective drawing upon aspects of sociology, geography, planning, environmental science and ecological economics. Providing a comprehensive treatment of underlying principles, the course provides students with a thorough understanding of the policy tools that can be used to promote more sustainable outcomes.
